Gammon word for gay?

Just wondrin whats the gammon fr gay in the cant? Pm me if ye wnt! Thnks

I heard it was Manu (not sure hwo to spell that) but usual queer fella or just said as one of the lads. lesbians dont really get a mention as far as i know. i guess traditionally people got married very early so there wasnt much chance to find out or get over the marriage when older travelelrs were married for life. no matter what

people didnt realy talk about this did they??? if they did it was usually in a abuseif way or at lease not common. tho I have heard the terms fagot, queer and one of the feins. itd be nice (if thats the right way to put it) to have a positive word for gay/lesbian/homosexual. someone should contact pavee point or something for a list of old words as most of the langage is gone now. i bet theres one for it!!

I heard hanu insted of manu that and queer, fag, one of them, brinc fien and gay. Guess some of em are newr then others

I know that language is a very sensitive issue for many of us, especially as it remains on of the few facets of Pavee tradition that has yet to truly cross the divide into the larger community – personally I feel that the language belongs to us all and if it is not shared openly, lovingly and with pride it is destined to die in the silence of our own self ignorance.

But in saying that I will respect the wishes of the majority and be among those that keep the major lexiconic, grammatical and verbalisationary principles to ourselves.

I have heard of “Hanu”, but like most words of reference it was usually one used in destain – not that the Travelling culture is in itself homophobic but due to the social principles in play the struggle for security often leads to an alienation of anything outside of the common family/child orientated flow.

I have also heard Tiope - which seems a clear denasalization of the poetic Gaelic reference of Piteog.
