Sign of the cross in Kant Empty
PostSubject: Sign of the cross in Kant   Sign of the cross in Kant EmptyWed Sep 23, 2009 2:59 pm

Like the other prayers I have on here I found this in a book I have, I think it's great and nice to be able to do Smile

Sign of the Cross
Noos o legi

The sign is done when the thumb, index, and middle finger are brought to a point, symbolizing the Trinity. That of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, representing the three persons sharing a single essence. The remaining two fingers are kept pressed together and touching the palm representing the dual form of Jesus, human and divine nature.

English

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Shelta
Ain dha Moniker o Gaater, dha Kam, ain dha Mun'ia Gradum, Staish Amen.

The motion
The sign of the Cross is made by touching the right hand sequentially to the forehead, sternum and both shoulders, accompanied by the Trinitarian formula at the forehead.

Touching the forehead: Ain dha Moniker o Gaater,
Touching the stomach or heart: Dha Kam,
Cross the shoulders from left to right: Ain dha Mun'ia Gradum,
And finally on returning to the heart: Staish Amen
