I get this as I've being there myself, and every so often I get annoyed and lay it at the feet of a persons sexuality and gender, rather then my own view of them.

Personally speaking I **like** men who are manly and feel that women should be feminine and girlie as it best reflects there gender – which is not only unfair on someone else as it makes requirements they need to fulfil but it's also unfair on myself – making limits and divisions in of my own expression that will eventually only lead to conflict.

What exactly is manly/masculine? What exactly is girlie/feminine? Where is the line drawn? Should a girl not be able to be assertive and if needed, aggressive? Should a man not be able to cry or say something romantic? (These are genuine questions by the way)

For myself I think its that overly female-like-men annoy me because at times I don't think their always being genuine and just fulfilling an expected role. Though it may in a way also be due to a conflict with my perceptions of gender roles and what people “should” be like, rather then the way they are. (which is likely far more realistic and genuine for most people).

It's not my thing and I gravitate away from it. More so as I have a naturally high octave voice, which can easily be seen as “gay”, hence I might be so quick to alienate and reject anything that is associated with it. Which would reinforce my manliness/security etc.

I think we should try to over come or at the very least make peace with other people and they way they just happen to be.

Like i say, i likes a man 2 be a man, and a girl to be feminine and no ones gonna change my thought on that, if anyone wanted to change me thoughts on that, well, thats not respectin me right to thoughts is it.

Of course a mush can say romantic things and a girl to be agressive, dont make em less a man or girl to me..

I hope you dont think I was trying to preach or change your mind, as I've a hard enough time chanign my own lol.

I guess the line between masculine and effiminite is a blurry one but well worth forgetting every now and then as it seems a little limiting - you know?

Tis a confusing topic I think as it reali depends onwhat each of us THINKS is man/girlie. Us and society. Thers a bit of scope for both as i dnt think any1is one totaly but as lng as a person is real it dosnt matter how queer or non queer they are as ther being themselves. Which i thnk were supposd 2 be. Fake queers anoy me tho but il gve any1a chance :-)
