Copper Torque
A copper torque is traditionally used to adorn the wrist as aid in the fight against arthritis and rheumatism. As it is an example of the craft of the smith, in where natural element was crafted to the will of the person it was used as a amulet of protection from fairies, sidhe, spirits and other supernatural forces. That and it's just darn pretty!
Gather together:9"x1/2" Copper strip s (I used some copper wire from a fallen ESB line simply because it was there)
Anvil/ hammer
Buffer (as in the cloth version lol)
Method:Traditionally the inner wire of electrical cords were used for this and I guess this still remains a viable source of copper. If you are using the copper from an electrical cord expect to use at least nine strands of equal length (as this strengthens it).
Step 1: Divide your copper into 3 equal parts.
Step 2: File or tap down your corners to get rid of sharp edges.
Step 3: With the hammer tap and bind the one end of the three strands of copper together.
Step 4: Start to weave the wires together.

Step 5: Buff your copper strip with an buffer or course cloth.
Step 6:Wash your copper to remove any black marks.
Step 7: Use the hammer to strike the copper on the round part of the anvil. This should form the bracelet shape.
It is now ready to wear. Although copper can be bend manually with the use of hands to do so often robs the creator of an equal shape and the opportunity to tap in a design on the bracelet.
