Hi all
I'm trying a make an intelligent & sensitive radio documentary about being a LGTB traveller.
I'm not a traveller but I am "gay".
[I grew up around traveller families [we lived cheek by jowl on the same estate], and I was born in, and have lived a lot of my life in racially diverse situations. I believe all forms of racism, oppression, and discrimination are wrong]
I think this is an important subject for a documentary; and it would have a social purpose. Our mission is to reach out and let all LGBT travellers [especially those feeling very isolated] know that they are not alone. It's about telling your story.
If you were at all interested in taking part we can talk to you directly, or we can disguise your voice, or we can even have somebody else read out your story - if you were uncomfortable with being recorded. We will not be naming names. Our documentary is about voices and stories, not the names of private individuals.
Could we chat privately about this? There's absolutely no obligation to take part in the final documentary - but it would really help to chat to you off the record/privately. No strings attached.
If you feel strongly that you can't chat to me, would you fill out a few questions on an anonymous online survey? [I'd much rather chat to you though!]
Please PM me.
Thanks and best wishes
Maurice
