Hi, thanks for getting in touch.
Yes, i have examples of other work, as some of it is private I can only send by mail as it is not up on flickr etc.
Previously when I did work with a female to male transexual we decided not to use any images of him. I wanted to avoid the whole 'this is what a trans looks like' so I shot possessions that he used to achieve the apperance he wanted - I shot them like like advertised goods, the aim was to place a percieved value on these often normal or mundane objects to get the viewer to think about the importance the play in the life of a F to M trans.
Other work was more straight forward images, exploring the lives of lesbians living in Rural Ireland, and a personal project with a disabled gay man. Usually I work with a mix of portrait, object, and place to achieve a sense of a persons experiances and views.
For this project I really want to give visual repersentation to a group who are almost invisible in society. LGBT travellers, as you all know, are at greater risk of depression and isolation - by presenting these images I would like to let others in a similar situation see that they are not alone - also I would hope that fore the people taking part it would help improve their self image and identity.
By working one on one with people I want to come up with ways of repersenting them - this does not have to be a face pic, it can be a possession, a gesture, where they live etc.
The deadline for the project is 18th of December so i have a fair amount of time left if anyone else would like to be part of this then feel free to contact me waith any question etc.
Hope that answered some of your questions and wasn't oo long winded!!
Dave
